Summary

[General description] This photograph of John Dunn's steam mill shows it in dilapidated condition. It was opened at Mount Barker in 1844 and was highly productive, being in operation for around fifty years. It was South Australia's first steam mill outside of Adelaide. [On back of photograph] 'Flour mill at Mt. Barker / Erected in 1844 by the late John Dunn / 1938 / Reproduced in the News, September 2nd, 1938'.
