Summary

[General description] This graceful building was built from grey marble on a base of local bluestone at a cost of 3,000 pounds. The architect was Mr. Frederick Dancker, contractor was Mr. R.H. Hewett. It was opened on December 13th, 1911 by Mr. James Hague. The new building replaced the earlier Institute which was too small for the growing population. It is in use today (2016) as the Angaston Town Hall. [On back of photograph] 'Angaston Institute, July 31 1916'.
