Addressed by Theosophical author and lecturer Clara Codd, the opening theme of the rally was 'The world position - a challenge to women'. Groups participating included the Australian Federation of Women Voters, the Women's Non-Party League, the University Women Graduates' Association, the Labor Women's Central Organising Committee, the Woman's Christian Temperance Union, and the Young Women's Christian Association.
