There are number of children and civilians looking on from the stairs. Two of the men have been identified by a researcher: Sammy Lunn is the older man in the white coat in the centre of the front row (also in B 26285/50); with Percy Gordon Bice 5th from left in front row (also in PRG 280/1/21/224). This photo also appeared (with others) in 'The Critic' under the heading 'Carnival at Alberton', Wednesday 19 January 1916, page 14.
