Opening of the State War Council Soldiers' Hostel by Sir Henry Galway, Governor of South Australia, July 19th 1918. The ceremony was also attended by the Premier, A.H.Peake, the Mayor of Adelaide, C. Glover, the Minister of Repatriation, E. Anstey, and Captain Blackburn, V.C., M.P. Located behind the City Baths, the hostel was built at a cost of 3,123 Pounds and provided accommodation for 50 men plus a luncheon room and hot and cold baths.
