A family historian has identified the individuals as: Back row: Harriet Polkinghorne, Florence Nicol, Frank Adams, May Wilson, Olive Stone (Adams), Amy Stevens and Hurtle Adams. Front row: Heppy (Hepzibah) Adams, William Edward Adams, Eliza Adams, and Allan Adams. It has been suggested that the photograph was taken on William and Eliza's golden wedding anniversary in 1914, but the photograph was published in the 'Observer' on 20 August 1927. Peter Driffield Gilbert papers and letters from WWII
Official and personal documents related to No. 416168 Flying Officer Peter Driffield Gilbert's active service in the RAAF during WWII, from his initial pilot training in August 1941 and participation in the Empire Air Training Scheme, through to war service in North Africa, the Middle East, Italy and Malta, until his return to Adelaide in 1944. Album relating to early South Australia and Northern Territory
Photographs, sketches and news clippings pasted onto loose album pages, relating to the early history of South Australia and the Northern Territory. Includes captioned photographs of the kangaroo hunting expedition near Lake Albert in November 1867 at which Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, was a guest. Other items in the albums include photographs and copies of sketches of Aboriginal people, and images of surveyors and land selectors in the Northern Territory. A number of unrelated clippings and images have been added to the album, possibly by Daly's children.
Photographs relating to war service
Photographs relating to Adelburt Thiele's service overseas in World War I. Includes images of Egypt, France and Turkey. Most photographs were taken by Thiele, while others were reproduced images used as postcards. Also includes a handwritten note about the location of some of the images on the Suez Canal, and an envelope addressed to Cpl M.E. Thiele (believed to be Max Eric Thiele, a brother or other relative of Adelburt).
