Ralph Wardle has a Corporal's rank chevrons on his right sleeve. The soldier on the right has three wound badges on his left sleeve. They are standing in front of a painted background of a park or woodland scene. Printed on a postcard which was sent to his sister, Lucy Wardle, in Naracoorte. The address of the photographer on the back of the postcard is shown as Edinburgh.
