Edward John Eyre (1815-1901), together with his Aboriginal colleague Wylie, was the first explorer to cross southern Australia from east to west, travelling across the Nullarbor Plain from Adelaide to Albany.

Edward John Eyre, explorer, colonial administrator arrived from England, via Sydney with 1,000 sheep which he sold for a large profit. He later explored north to the Flinders Ranges, west to beyond Ceduna, west along the coastline of the Great Australian Bight, the Nullabor Plain and Albany in Western Australia.

Edward John Eyre, land explorer, Colonial Administrator and controversial Governor of Jamaica. He sold 400 lambs and later used the profit to fund his expedition to the interior of South Australia and west beyond Ceduna. In 1840-1841, with his Aboriginal companion, he became the first European to traverse the land across the Nullabor Plain following the Great Australian Bight.

Edward Allan Farquhar. Born Le Fevre's Peninsular 4 November 1871 and educated at Mr. S. MacPherson's School, Exeter, and Prince Alfred College. Married Mabel Cranwell in 1896. Began his career working for Crooks and Brooker in 1885. President of the Marine Board until the establishment of the Harbors Board in 1914, when he was appointed Commissioner of the Harbors Board becoming Chairman on the resignation of his predecessor, Arthur Searcy, in 1924. Served as a Councillor, Alderman and Chair of Finance on the Port Adelaide City Council. He died on 3 April 1935.

He acted as assistant to Rev. CB Howard, the first Colonial Chaplain. Upon Howard's death he married his widow in 1845 and also succeeded as Colonial Chaplain

Daniel Ferguson, born in Ayrshire in 1796 and died in Glenunga in 1864. He bought land near Glen Osmond in 1847 and named it Glenunga, and was a pioneer farmer. He also owned the Parkside Mill and was on the RAH Society and other colonial boards and committees.
