The Bank of South Australia, Port Adelaide, on the north-east corner of Commercial Road and Divett Street. (See also B 2782.) It was built in 1859, by architect Edmund Wright and builder Charles Farr (vide Observer 12 March 1859, p3b). According to a researcher, this image depicts the Bank of South Australia on Commercial Rd, Port Adelaide not Lipson Street.

S.A.R. locomotives being unloaded from a ship at Port Adelaide. The ship in the foreground with an empty deck is the M.V. Beldis, and alongside it is the M.V. Belray. In 1926 the Beldis supplied the first consignment of locomotives for the S.A.R (ordered by William Webb). It remained at Ocean Wharf until the Belray arrived on her maiden voyage on 29 June, carrying 16 locomotives and tenders. These were hoisted using a super-lift crane aboard the Beldis and over its deck, onto the wharf.
