Watercolour paintings

Scott (Family), c. 1919, Artwork, PRG 1524/14

Four unframed watercolour paintings. All feature gardens, item one is identified as Marble Hill (a house in Norton Summit); item 2 is believed to feature the house 'Wairoa' at Aldgate. It is unclear if paintings were made by Margaret Cochrane Scott or her daughter Winifred Scott, although none are signed, suggesting the former (see series 17 for comparison).

Aboriginal children

One of a collection of photographs taken at work camps at the Coober Pedy Aboriginal Reserve, one in August 1961 and another in August 1962. This image shows a woman feeding a baby with a number of children and young women beside her. The caption on the back reads 'A work camper from Melbourne feeding baby Jennifer, who returned to Adelaide with the group for treatment in the Children's Hospital'.

Heinrich family album

Heinrich family album, compiled by Ilona Oppenheim from loose family photographs. Notes found on the verso of photographs are noted in the caption in inverted commas. Topics include life at Hermannsburg Mission in the Northern Territory in the nineteen twenties, with photographs of some Aboriginal people and visitors to Hermannsburg, including scientists, government officials and tourists. Photos 293-295 are restricted from view pending assessment of Aboriginal content. These images include 293. Ceremonial tjuringa stones of the Hermannsburg area (restricted); 294. 'Manangananga' sacred cave (restricted); 295. 'Holy cave 17 April 1929 (Dad's birthday)'. Large group of Aboriginal people from the Hermannsburg Mission gathered at a sacred spot (restricted). Photos 296-302 have not been digitised. These are duplicated elsewhere in other Heinrich albums or lantern slides.

Gorge swing bridge
