Church of the Holy Evangelist

Church of the Holy Evangelist

Church of the Holy Evangelist at Goolwa. Land was granted for the building of the church in 1857. The church bell was one of the heaviest and was presented in 1897 by Liet. Col. Higgins. The church was built of travertine limestone and has a limestone clock tower with a spire. The tower was completed in 1905 and the clock installed in 1905. The church opened in 1868.
