The South Australian Advertiser, 2 November 1883: page 4 notes that Captain Sweet took a photograph of the interior of the Town Hall during a luncheon for the laying of the foundation stone for the Adelaide Young Men's Christian Association, with Hon. Alexander Hay, President of the Association in the chair. His wife, Agnes Grant Hay nee Gosse, is seated two seats to Alexander's right and Charles Goode is seated four seats to his left.

McKirdy, Seedsman with Melbourne Photographic Company (George Freeman, manager) on first floor (see studio glass windows), and four storey warehouse of Donaldson, Andrews and Sharland next door. On other side of this building is site for James Marshall & Co.'s new building following fire which severely damaged the earlier two-storey premises in 1882. (See B 2504 for a nearly identical image of this view, with James Marshall's earlier building showing blackened facade after fire. Telegraph poles had been erected on Rundle Street by time of later image.).

Eastern side of Victoria Square, looking south (Sweet Adelaide 325), from the top of the Treasury Building. King William Street divides the two sides of the square. Wakefield Street divides the garden into halves which are fenced with iron pailings and contain benches and shrubs. The Law Courts and Supreme Court Buildings can be seen at the southern end of the square and the Torrens Building is on the eastern side. Another copy is in Sweet Collection folder 3.
