Taylor's Shaft, Wallaroo Mines showing cables being lowered down the new shaft to connect at a lower level with the old one. This was made necessary by a recent fire. Note by Mr Oswald Pryor "figure in the foreground in miner's rig is Captain Thomas Tamblyn. On right is Mr Tom Skinner, engineer and surface manager. Cables were covered with lead to withstand action of acid bearing mine water".
