Investigator Matthew Flinders who explored the coast of South Australia and M.L. Le Geographe Nicolas Baudin, April 8 1802. On board the Investigator was John Franklin the Artic Discoverer. These English and French Explorers held friendly conference. And Flinders named the place of meeting Encounter Bay. Unveiled by his Excellency Lord Tennyson. April 8, 1902'.

A 19th century house at Victor Harbor (located near the railway station). Once occupied by the Madigan family, in the early fifties including Pat Madigan, known locally as Paddy or PJ and Gwen Madigan. A son Mark Madigan, fell from this balcony as a toddler but sustained no injuries.

The Tabernacle, Encounter Bay, Victor Harbor. This newspaper cutting is mounted on a board together with a copy of the image B 3187. On the back is a newspaper clipping from the 'Register' November 26th, 1935 bearing the title 'A link with the past - Erection of a monolith'. From this article the inscription has been transcribed as 'This stone marks the site of "The Tabernacle", the first Congregational church in the southern district, founded in 1846 by the Rev. R. W. Newland, the pioneer pastor of the South'.
