Compare with B 5236.The new building has been built on the east corner of Club House Lane. It was built in commercial palazzo style in 1931-32 and helped to define the commerical part of Adelaide.

Franklin Street, south side. The left side of Walter and Morris's building abuts the west side of Trades Hall Lane. Frontage: 9 yards. For a view of Walter and Morris's building after alterations completed in 1952 see B 12959. The origins of the firm Walter and Morris (timber merchants), 1886-1979, lie in the establishment of the Sarnia Timber Yard at Port Adelaide by Captain Peter Le Messurier and Theophilus Robin in 1865. The subsequent company named Walter and Morris became defunct in 1979
