An electric double deck trolley bus no. 407, en route to Hackney Depot. The vehicle is an AEC 661T with a 59 seat double-deck body built by Adelaide firm Lawton, one of 30 delivered to the Adelaide MTT in 1937-1939.

North Terrace East, frontage of building is 21.5 yards and right side is 55 yards east of King William Street. New building erected by the Shell Company in 1931/2. Compare with B 5236.The new building has been built on the east corner of Club House Lane. It was built in commercial palazzo style in 1931-32 and helped to define the commerical part of Adelaide.

Colonial Mutual Life Building, south west corner of Hindley Street and King William Street, frontage is 33 yards. This 14 storey, neo gothic style building was erected in 1934/5 and completed in January 1935. For additions made to the west side of CML building in 1936 see B 7079. See also B 289 and B 6400.

Franklin Street, south side. The left side of Walter and Morris's building abuts the west side of Trades Hall Lane. Frontage: 9 yards. For a view of Walter and Morris's building after alterations completed in 1952 see B 12959. The origins of the firm Walter and Morris (timber merchants), 1886-1979, lie in the establishment of the Sarnia Timber Yard at Port Adelaide by Captain Peter Le Messurier and Theophilus Robin in 1865. The subsequent company named Walter and Morris became defunct in 1979

South west corner of Gouger and King William Streets, 1941 showing the old and new book stalls. The new stall was erected in August 1941. The old stall can be seen covered b y news papers headline posters. Two men are standing in front of the old stall. One of the men is wearing a money bag around his shoulder and is possibly the proprietor Mr FD O'Shea.
