An early version of a bulldozer churning up earth during a demonstration in South Australia. This is a trench or ditch digging machine, which has an engine mounted on the frame. It drives the digging mechanism, which consists of a series of bucket shaped scoops set at intervals along a chain. The scoops empty the spoil onto a belt and the belt discharges that material to one side. The moving discharged spoil can be seen as it is blurred by its movement.
