It is thought to be a memorial to explorer Robert O'Hara Burke, carved on a tree at Cooper Creek, located 30 metres from the 'Dig Tree'. The work was executed by John Dick, a travelling photographer, and his wife Minnie Ghyn Thompson in November 1898.
