Seven soldiers dressed in full kit described as being members of the main camp guard, possibly at a South Australian army camp. A researcher has suggested that these are members of the 76th Infantry (the '76' badges can be seen on their hats), who were part of the militia, or Army Reserve. Due to their youthful appearance they may possibly be under 18-year-olds during World War One, and are unlikely to be 'guards'.

A group of soldiers from the 3rd Light Horse, Machine Gun Section, pictured with their dog mascot in front of the stables at 'The Lodge', the Hawker's property which was used for the Morphettville Camp during the war. Frank L.G. Smith is seated 4th from left in the front row, the officer to his left (in a pre-war militia uniform) was probably a camp instructor. The men in this photo embarked from Adelaide on board Transport A17 'Port Lincoln' on 20 October 1914, and the roll identifies the men (although not where they appear in the photo). They are: Arthur Edward Amies, Harold George Cox, Joseph Cradock, Roy Gordon Garvie, Stanley Hinde Garvie, William George Gordon, Alvan Willie Gurr, William Hammond, William Henry Patrick Hampshire, Frederick Harvey, William Edwin Leonard Hill, Patrick Michael Malloy, Overington Edwin Matthews, Robert John McCaw, Frank James Govan McDougall, James Merrifield, Thomas Henry Northridge, Thomas Aloysius O'Brien, Wilfred James Parry, Walter Henry Pearce, William Gordon Physick, Leslie James Quinn, Albert Carl Schmelzkopf, Archibald Roy Smith, Frank Lindsay Gordon Smith, Douglas Linly Roy Watson.

Lieutenant Colonel Frank Rowell of the 3rd Light Horse Regiment photographed standing outside 'The Lodge' at Morphettville. [The building seen behind him can be seen in full in PRG 280/1/10/13.] The Morphettville Camp not only included the Race Course at Morphettville, but an adjacent property lent to the Commonwealth Government by the owner, Mr Hawker, for this early training camp; the building was known as 'The Lodge'.

River class Torpedo Boat Destroyers H.M.A.S. Yarra and H.M.A.S. Parramatta at Port Adelaide. The two ships on their delivery voyage from England to Australia arrived off Largs Bay on 5 December 1910 and proceeded to Inner Harbor after the Governor, Sir Day Hort Bosanquet, boarded the Parramatta. The barque Almora is berthed behind the destroyers.
