Peter Somerville and Christina Leitch were married in Scotland in 1860. In 1861 Peter was a gardner and they lived at Lanark. They emigrated to South Australia on the ship Saxon, arriving in May 1871. Settling at Glen Osmond, Peter was a well known horticulturist.
