The first fire engine is a 1909 Merryweather delivered to the South Australian Fire Brigade on 8 November 1909 and retained until 1937. This vehicle is displayed at the Birdwood Motor Museum. The buildings in the background include the W.Menz and Company building and the Wakefield Hotel.
