Charles James Melrose, pilot with his aircraft. A researcher has added : The aircraft is his Heston Phoenix painted green and silver. It also had 'South Australian Centenary 1936' painted on it. Also his uncle's name - who it is believed sponsored it. A note on the back of the photograph states "Mr CJ Melrose and his aeroplane in which he is flying to Adalaide, South Australia, early in April, to attend the South Australian Centenary Celebrations. Mr Melrose desires to take three passengers and enquiries regarding costs etc. should be addressed to the Agent General and Trade Commissioner for South Australia, British Industries House, Marble Arch, W1"
