River steamers at Murray Bridge : The Victor, Length 93ft, Beam 14ft, Draft 5ft built at Goolwa 1877: The Venus, Length 110ft, Beam 19ft, Draft 6ft, built at Pt Adelaide 1867. The 'Tyro' is also pictured behind these two vessels. The PS Tyro was used for trading on the Murray River between 1872 and 1926. She was built by S Shetliffe and Sons at Goolwa. In 1897 she was almost destroyed by an exploding boiler.
