A researcher has suggested that the boat at the end of the jetty on the left is not either of the two paddle steamers named 'Dispatch' because the shape of the 'wheel boxes' do not match those of the two 'Dispatch' paddle steamers (the first was sold in 1888 and re-registered as the P.S. Bellarine in Geelong, Victoria. The second 'Dispatch' was a smaller paddle steamer).
