A researcher has provided the following information: 'I have just purchased an original 1944 album of photos by Sergeant George Lee who was working in HQ Signals of 146 Wing 2nd Tactical Air Force (RAF) and, in starting to research into who George Lee was I came across your website. The photos in your album and mine are virtually identical - clearly of the same events and taken from similar if not identical viewpoints.'

Digital copy of a photograph of a man holding flowers and standing by three Air Force war graves in the Wevelgem Communal Cemetery, Belgium. The cross on the left marks the grave of RAAF Squadron Leader Mervyn Powell, DFC Captain (Pilot), No. 402817, of Mackay, Queensland. The centre cross marks the grave of RAAF Flying Officer David Payne Croston (Air Gunner), No. 405821, of Adelaide, South Australia. Croston was educated at St Peters College, Adelaide, where he developed an interest in rowing and joined the Port Adelaide Rowing Club in 1928, holding the positions of Assistant Secretary in 1938/39 and Secretary in 1939/40. The cross on the right marks the grave of RAF Flight Sergeant B. Fraser (Bomb Aimer). The three men were flying with 463 Squadron RAAF in Lancaster LL882 on a night mission to Lille, France, on 11 May 1944 when the aircraft was shot down by a night fighter about 8 km north of Ypres. All of the crew were killed and are buried in the Wevelgem Communal Cemetery in Belgium. The other members of the crew were: RAF FO Jaques, R (Navigator); RAAF 406700 Flt Lt Read, W N (Wireless Operator Air Gunner); RAF Sgt H L Molyneux, (Flight Engineer); RAAF 407199 FO Croft, R McK (Air Gunner).

Comprising a World War II photograph album of 49 pages created by Private Colin James Ellis 'S21513', during his service in Darwin, in the 27th Infantry Battalion (South Australian Scottish Regiment) 20/11/1941-18/8/1943. The album consists of 49 composite pages, each page with an average of 4 individual photographs, which document Ellis' war service in Darwin and surrounding regions whilst serving in the 7MD Field Postal Unit. Included are images of everyday life in service, servicemen and military scenes in Darwin and Larrakeeyah (Northern Territory), Japanese Air Raid scenes during and after the attacks, damage caused by air raids including sunken ships and burned out buildings, Adelaide River headquarters, general landscape and leisure scenes, scenes of men and women off-duty. There is a section of pages at the end which illustrate Army troupes marching though Wagga Wagga (New South Wales) Labour Day 7/10/1943. Much of the photograph album is captioned.
