General notes

HMS Psyche was a Pelorus class third class cruiser, launched on 19 July 1898. Psyche served in the Pacific during the First World War and in August 1914 formed part of the escort for the New Zealand Force which occupied German Samoa. Psyche was transferred to the Royal Australian Navy on 1 July 1915 and decommissioned on 26 March 1918.
