General notes

The following have not been digitised, but may be requested and viewed in the Somerville Reading Room: 39. Colour photograph of a room for a resident at the Cavan Detention Centre. The room is furnished with a bed, a desk and chair and a pin board and the residents personal items. Photographer Richard Walker, dated 11 May, 1995; 40. Colour photograph of a young man standing at a window which is covered by a security screen and looking out. Taken at the Cavan Detention Centre, photographer Richard Walker, various date stamps on back for January and May, 1995.

In addition to the photographs, the group also includes 16 photocopied pages of additional images and the captions which were used with the images. Subjects include Tip Top bakery trucks, post box on Prospect Road, skate park at Prospect and Telstra overhead phone cables on Prospect Road. These can be requested and viewed in the Somerville Reading Room.

Historical information

B 75305/12 : Nailsworth High School, Regency Road, was a technical school. In 1995 it was forcibly merged with the nearby academic Northfield High School on Hampstead. The new school was named Ross Smith Secondary College and established on the Northfield campus (now also demolished). It was closed in 2010 to create Roma Mitchell Secondary College at Gepps Cross.
