'Yacka' [steel single screw steam tug, ON137238. 118 gross, 2 net tons. Built 1926 (12) Scott and Sons, Bowling. 90.0 x 22.1 x 9.4. Triple expansion recip. steam engines, 84nhp. Hawthorns Ltd. Leith and Gauldie and Gillespie, Glasgow. Owners: The Adelaide Steam Tug Co. Ltd., registered Port Adelaide; 1958 Ritch and Smith Ltd.; 1967 Towage Holdings Pty. Ltd. Sold 1971 having been laid up since 1969. Late 1973 sold by order of the court on account of accumulated debts. New owner commenced making alterations and it is believed she was to be converted into a tuna fishing boat but was found to be unsuitable and she was demolished in Port Adelaide mid 1975. A collection of 430 personal photographs, mounted in an album, originating in the Mid-North country area (possibly the Yacka district), and depicting leisure and work activities in the 1920s. Also includes photographs of buildings in Clare, Koolunga, Sevenhill, including St Aloysius Catholic Church, Redhill, Mount Gambier, Port MacDonnell, Cape Northumberland, Melrose, Port Broughton, Fisherman's Bay, Victor Harbor, Port Elliot and many unidentified country scenes and people.
