The four masted steel barque 'Fingal', 2570 tons, in an unidentified port [steel 4 mast barque, 2570 tons. ON81442, 308.2 x 42.8 x 25.0. Built 1883 (3) Harland and Wolff, Belfast. Owners R. Martin and Co. Registered Belfast. c.1910 sold to Norway without change of name]. The port has been identified as Hobart, Tasmania, with a view of Mount Wellington in the background. William McMurtry (born 14 March 1857) of Islandmagee, Northern Ireland, was the captain of the 'Fingal', and he died in Sydney, aged 45, while the ship was docked there.

The wooden barque 'Mary Blair', 311 tons, in an unidentified port [wooden 3 mast barque, 343 tons, ON64360, 141.6 x 27.0 x 14.6. Built 1870 John Duthie Sons and Co., Aberdeen. Owners: John Trager and James Ewan, registered Sydney, May 1875 Charles Dowdell, William Belbin and James Riddle (also master) registered Hobart Town: Dec. 80 Charles Dowdell: May 1887 Richard Honey, registered Port Adelaide: March 1889 Honey re-registers the vessel at Fremantle. She was sold to foreigners at Singapore in 1893. No further information. Was built as a 3 mast schooner rigged vessel and re-rigged as a barque in 1872. Intended to be a tea clipper between China, Hong Hong and Australian ports. Reference: 'Wooden Hookers of Hobart Town' page 114]. A researcher has provided the following information: 'this Port appears to be Hobart Town, with Mount Wellington in the background. The master is Captain James Riddle, who became Hobart's Harbour Master on 1 July 1879. The 'Mary Blair' was run in the China trade, captained by James Riddle, until he became Hobart Town Harbour Master on 1 July 1879, when he handed over the 'Mary Blair' to Captain Boon. The 'Mary Blair' was sold to Richard Mooney (or Money) and the registration of the ship was transferred to Adelaide in April 1887'.

The steel barque 'Silverstream', 1242 tons, in an unidentified port [steel 3 mast barque, 1242 gross tons, ON87794, 226.0 x 36.4 x 21.9. Built 1891 (2) CJ Bigger, Londonderry. Owners: WP Herdman, registered Belfast]. A researcher has identified the port as Wellington, New Zealand. The 'Silverstream' arrived there on 9 November 1982.

Photograph album belonging to Ethela Poonindie Bishop (nee Hammond), second wife of Joseph Kemp Bishop. The album was given to Ethela by Amy Helen Bishop, Georgiana Edith Bishop, Florence Elizabeth Hammond, and N.E.N. on September 24th, 1897. Comprising 93 small black and white photographs, most of landscapes, including Mount Barker, landscapes and workers at Wellington Lodge, landscapes and workers at Koonamore Station near Yunta, various locations in Port Lincoln including Mill Cottage owned by Joseph Kemp Bishop, the Adelaide Hills, Glen Osmond and the Adelaide Zoo, and two of Ethela and Joseph's grandchildren, Jack (John) and Mary Bishop, children of Sidney J.F. Bishop. Selected images have been digitised and can be viewed by doing an ARCHIVAL NUMBER search on PRG 1123/2.
