[General description] This newly completed three storey building has a Venetian Gothic facade in carved sandstone. It was built for physical education and included a swimming pool. It is registered with the National Trust. The Institute was founded to further the physical and intellectual education of working class young men, with a strong emphasis on Christian values. City Baths, King William Road, Adelaide, west side. This ornate Victorian structure, with its Dutch gables, was opened in 1882. An equally ornate lamp post stands in the road in front of the building. For a view of the new building, erected 1939-1940, see B 10492.
Government House
[General description] Looking down on Government House and its garden from a building on North Terrace. The Union Jack is flying from a flag pole and the gatehouse guards the house and grounds. On King William Road the triple fronted building housing the Swimming Baths can be seen. The Rotunda stands in Elder Park and the steeples of North Adelaide can be seen above the trees. Victor York Richardson
A caricature by Lionel Coventry of Victor York Richardson, sportsman and radio commentator. Victor York Richardson scored 27 centuries in first-class cricket, represented Australia at baseball, South Australia at golf and tennis, and excelled at lacrosse, basketball, and swimming. He captained South Australia and Australia at cricket, a South Australian captain of football, and an outstanding gymnast, athlete, and hockey player. He later became a journalist and a radio commentator.

Photographs are principally scenes of Port Lincoln, but scenes of Arno Bay, Tumby Bay, Cowell, Port Augusta, Port Pirie, and Iron Knob are also featured (images 1-32 taken in 2001, images 33-71 taken in 2002).
