[General description] Salisbury Hotel, first licenced 1854, still going in 2019. Hotel keeper John Heier's family, tradesmen and two horse drawn vehicles in front of the Hotel. There is an Assembly Room attached to the main building. [On back of photograph] 'Salisbury Hotel / Tommy Wiggins, Butcher (with dog); John Heddle, baker, with paper in hand; John Heier, hotel keeper in shirt sleeves with wife near pole; Cordt Heier, their son in buggy.

Old Spot Hotel, Salisbury
[General description] The Old Spot Hotel, Salisbury is a rambling single storey building situated next to the Little Para River which is spanned by a stone bridge. Post and rail fencing is seen along the road and around the hotel where a flock of sheep are gathered on the right. The first licensee was J. Ilberry 1841-42 and John Harvey, the founder of the town of Salisbury was licensee from 1845-48.

St John's Church of England, Salisbury. Daniel Garlick designed the second church built on this site. It was built between 1858 and 1865 with the foundation stone being laid in 1858. Shell grit from St Kilda was used for the floor. The sanctuary was added in 1896.

Salisbury Public School
[General description] 'Salisbury Public School is a solid stone building with a gabled front, wide verandah and iron roof. Children are lined up for the photographer in front of the building. The first building completed in 1877 consisted of 2 rooms. Another room was added in 1880 to increase accommodation to 200 pupils. Named Salisbury Primary School in 1943, it closed in 1970 when a new school was built. It is now an annexe of the Elizabeth Community College.

Flour Mill at Salisbury, burnt down 25th January 1915. The mill owned by Messrs. Edwin Davey and Sons was completely destroyed by fire.The mill lost 2,300 bushels of wheat and machinery. The oldest part of the mill was built in 1854.
