A ship identified by Searcy as the SS 'Ferret' ashore at Reef Head, South Australia, where it was wrecked on 14 November 1920. According to a researcher, the close ship is the barque 'Ethel', which ran aground in 1904. This would make the wreck further out the 'Ferret', which was wrecked in 1920, but had been used in an unsuccessful attempt to refloat the 'Ethel' in 1904.

The gentleman on the right is Thomas George Adams, born in 1835 at Portsea, England, died 1907 at Edwardstown, S.A., son of John William Adams and Susanna, nee Fabian, 'Buffalo' passengers. According to a researcher, Thomas George Adams was the fourth child of John William Adams, and Susanna (Fabian) Adams, born In Portsea Hampshire 12 Mar 1835. He was the youngest child to make the voyage with his parents John William Adams and Susanna (Fabian) Adams on HMS Buffalo 1836. Thomas George Adams married Louisa Tilly about 1857.Louisa died of scarlet fever 10 December 1891. Thomas George Adams died on 1st August 1907, and is buried at West Terrace Cemetery.

The post 1903 ensign (with the 7 point Federation Star and modified southern cross) from the main mast and the pre 1903, Australian competition result (with six pointed federation star and various pointed stars on the southern cross), from the stern. The flag is on the foremast is probably the Governor-General's flag, date c.1909
