Tom Leahy and Alby Klose

Formal portrait of Australian Rules footballers from the West Adelaide Football Club: Tom Leahy (left) and Alby Klose. Both players later joined North Adelaide, Leahy in 1910 and Klose in 1911. Tom Leahy was known as the 'Prince of Ruckmen' and won the 1913 Magarey Medal. Alby Klose became North's first non-playing coach in 1920, a premiership year in which Leahy was captain.

John James McCarthy (left standing) Henry Richard "Dick" Head (seated) Albert "Alby" Hermann Klose (standing right). All three played in West Adelaide's 1908 and 1909 Premiership teams. Dick Head also won the 1909 Magarey medal. Klose later joined North Adelaide as a player (1911-15) and was their first official coach when they won the 1920 Premiership.
