Portrait of Bob Purvis. 'Bob Purvis contracted tetanus and lockjaw:- survived the ordeal. After many months of sickness came back to Northern Territory and I believe lived to quite an age and died somewhere around the sixties. He was a very strong man and had an enormous appetite, very seldom ate bread, but eggs, meat and other foods. He came out from England. He also had a brother Lou Purvis.'
