The "Senator Petersen" was a ship built in Lubeck Germany in 1892 and weighed 1713 tons. In 1892 she sailed from Gelfe to Port Adelaide. She was a three mast fully rigged vessel and disappeared in 1906

The "Moonta" ship was built in Maine USA in 1847 weighing 656 tons. Notes on the back of the photograph say "ship engaged in interstate coastal trade. Built in the USA in 1847 as "Seth Sprague". 627 tons, registered. Arrived in South Australia c. 1864 and renamed. Owner was T Elder, RB Smith and Captain H Simpson". She made various voyages from Newcastle to Wallaroo and Port Adelaide

[General description] The "Earl of Zetland", three masted iron ship, built by A. MacMillan & Son, Dunbarton in 1875. Probably at Port Adelaide. Ran aground and wrecked at Vang, near Hasle, Bornholm, on voyage from Sundsvall to Delagoa Bay, S Africa, with a cargo of timber.

The 'Saint Vincent'
[General description] Built in Sunderland by Pile in 1865, the 'St Vincent' was a composite barque of 892 tons, owned at this time by Devitt & Moore and used as a regular South Australian trader. Later sold to Norway and renamed 'Axel'. Probably moored at Port Adelaide as Luxmoore & Co. and Harrold Brothers were both South Australian firms.

[General description] The 'Titania', an iron 3 masted barque of 1082 gross, 996 net tons. 201.1 x 32.8 x 20.3. Built 1889 Bremer Schiffbau Ges v. HF Ulrichs, Vegesack. Owners: 1911 HG Andersen, registered Fredrikstad, Norway. She is being overhauled in (possibly) Fletcher's slip at Port Adelaide.

The "Dina" Ship
The ship "Dina" which was formerly the "Remington". The iron ship was originally the Norwegian vessel Dina. She weighed 999 tons and was later remodelled as a barque of 1043 tons. She was built in 1877 and dropped from registers in 1910. She is pictured here at Port Adelaide in approximately 1905. See also PRG 1373/12/39

Sailing Ship "Hesperides" arrived in Port Adelaide on August 4, 1875. The Captain was M Upton. It was the 6th ship to sail from England to South Australia with government passengers of which there were over 360.

The 'Moshulu'
The 'Moshulu' at Port Adelaide. Built in 1904, the ship got its name in 1917. A researcher suggests that this photograph was taken between 1935-1942, as it was owned by Gustav Erikson in Finland at this time and employed in the grain trade with Australia. She won th last grain race in 1939 from Australia to Queenstown, Ireland, taking 91 days and carrying 4,875 tonnes of grain. The ship still exists as a restaurant and museum ship in Philadelphia, USA.
