"Glenthorne", O'Halloran Hill : the low building on the right is "Lizard Lodge". Glenthorne (O'Halloran Hill, S.A.) was originally settled by Major Thomas O'Halloran who was the first Police Commissioner of South Australia. Major Thomas O"Halloran lived on a property nearby named "Lizard Lodge". In 1878 the then owner of the estate, Thomas Saunders Porter, renamed the farm and horse stud 'Glenthorne" and built Glenthorne House, which was built on three levels, over the site of the original Lizard Lodge
