[General description] Head and shoulders portrait of Sir Robert Kyffin Thomas, the subject facing left. His hair is worn short and he has a trim moustache. In 1877 he became the principal joint proprietor of the South Australian Register, and also edited the Observer. He was knighted in 1910 and died soon after at his home, Ardington on Brougham Place North Adelaide. For a photograph, see B 3459.

Papers of the Thomas family, pioneers, comprising a diary, reminiscences and letters by Mary Thomas describing the voyage of the 'Africaine' in 1836 and life in the colony. Includes several letters by Robert Thomas, including a letter to the Colonial Office protesting offical deference to Aboriginal occupation, extracts from the diary of Mary Thomas, daughter, Margaret Robert and correspondence and a scrapbook of Sir Robert Kyffin Thomas, grandson. Also contains Thomas and Harris family wills, marriage certificates and associated papers, memorances, papers and a wax seal related to the Thomas family history, and versions of the Diary of Mary Thomas. Multiple signatures cover both sides. The inner section contains a menu, and toasts. Dinner held at the South Australian Hotel on Saturday, October 7, 1922.

Three men dressed in hunting clothes, central figure is Thomas Williams. The back of the cabinet photo is inscribed 'With pleasant memories from G Klewitz Soward / G. Kyffin Thomas / Moorak, April 1891'. It seems likely that the other two men are Soward (on right) and Thomas.

[General description] Doctor Wyatt's house on the eastern side of Wyatt Street. The brick house has a return verandah and is set in a verdant garden. [On back of photograph] Acre 146 Wyatt Street, east side 1877-79 Dr Wyatt's house. Looking north west towards Wyatt Street. For site see Cadastral survey plan, 1880. South side of cottage is 51 yards south of Grenfell Street. East side is 10 yards east of Wyatt Street. Reproduced in 1926 from a photo. in the possession of Mrs. G.N. Birks, Millswood. This building was also at one time the home of William Kyffin Thomas. For further notes see Archives 1286/p.31.
