Mrs Mary Ann Blood
Mrs Mary Ann Blood, wife of Dr Matthew H. S. Blood. Marianne was born April 4, 1816 in County Clare. She married Matthew her third cousin when she was 17. They had 11 children. Dr Matthew Henry Smyth Blood was born in County Clare and became a qualified medical practitioner in 1831. His family sailed for South Australia aboard the "Success" arriving in 1848. In Kapunda he was Mines Doctor until 1860. He founded the Kapunda Freemason's Lodge of which he became the first Master. He was Kapunda's first mayor and loved by many in the town. He died aged 75.

In Kapunda he was Mines Doctor until 1860. He founded the Kapunda Freemason's Lodge of which he became the first Master. He was Kapunda's first mayor and loved by many in the town. He died aged 75.

West front view of Anlaby homestead. The homestead was established in 1839 and is the oldest Merino Stud in South Australia. The pioneer family of Duttons owned the property for over 130 years. There are over 40 buidings on the property. The main house has over 23 rooms complete with a servant's wing, butler's pantry and a flower room. There are 4 acres of gardens around the main house. Four gentlemen and a child can be seen on the verandah enjoying the ambience

West front view of Anlaby homestead, Alexander Buchanan in topee. Buchanan was the manager of Dutton's Anlaby Station. Under his charge the original flock of sheep increased from 5,000 to 60,000. Buchanan was highly regarded and served as a magistrate in the district. The homestead was established in 1839 and is the oldest Merino Stud in South Australia. The pioneer family of Duttons owned the property for over 130 years. There are over 40 buidings on the property. The main house has over 23 rooms complete with a servant's wing, butler's pantry and a flower room. There are 4 acres of gardens around the main house. The pioneer family of Duttons owned the property for over 130 years. This original homestead had a thatched roof. The ladies can be seen on the verandah. The homestead is surrounded by a brush fence
