General store at Echunga

View of a Shell Company petrol tanker parked in front of Colebatch's general store at Echunga. On the back is ' "on view" Dad, Mum, Edith, "Shell driver" '. It is believed that 'Dad' is A.N. Colebatch since his second daughter was Edith (and both Edith and her sister Violet were married in Echunga in 1831 and 1935 respectively). 'Mum' was obviously his wife. According to a newspaper article in 'The Mount Barker Courier and Onkaparinga and Gumeracha Advertiser, Thursday 8 July 1937, page 4, A.N. Colebatch owned the store for 11 years (from approximately 1923 to 1934).
