31 bundles and some loose sheets, comprising approximately 700 documents, relating to the business activities of George Fife Angas in South Australia from 1846 to 1857. The majority of items are from 1850 to 1851, with over 300 documents from the year 1851, and comprise mainly correspondence and business papers to or from John Howard Angas at Tarrawatta. Documents include: bills of sale of cattle, sheep and horses; matters relating to leases, rents, agreements, and loan repayments; accounts; and legal documents. Also includes material relating to the Wheal Barton Mining Association and the Barossa Range Mining Company. Correspondents include: Charles Flaxman, Arthur Freeling, August Kavel (3 April 1851), and other German settlers (writing in German). Documents are grouped by year. A newspaper article, source unknown, dated November 9 1916 and headed 'National Service : Refusing duty : two men sent to gaol'. It describes the court cases at Gawler Magistrates' Court of two men who were gaoled for 14 days each for failing to enrol for military service.

"The dark green line marks the Boundary of Properties which the President of the Marine Board recommends should be purchased."

Expedition going up December 1839'. Signed 'J.M.S., 1840'. The painting shows a longitudinal view along a stretch of the Murray River, with lightly wooded, undulating land on either side. In the bottom right hand corner an Aboriginal man is shown hunting a goanna.
