Bennett was a draftsman and died from a spear attack and Richard Hazard was a cook who died from rheumatism

Aerial view of the Sleep's Hill Viaduct in the Adelaide Hills. Viaducts for the railway lines in the Adelaide Hills crossed two steep gullies and were manufactured by an American company. The viaducts were dismantled in June 1920. They were located between Lynton and Eden Hills in the Adelaide Hills.

The house in foreground still existed in 1941 and unchanged except for the addition of a verandah along the northern frontage. A note written on the back of the photograph in 1969 states that the pine tree in the garden is now the highest tree in Gawler.

Decorated street scene on the occasion of the opening of the Gawler Town Hall, 20 November 1878. The grand opening caused much excitement in the town and the local shops were decorated for the occasion. This photograph shows an archway which had been created over Murray Street. The attached banners read "God Save the Queen" and "Welcome Sir Jervois". A crown made from light bulbs adorns the top of the banner and flags are flying on either side of the arch.

[General description] Oaklands is a rambling single storey stone homestead with wide verandahs, built c. 1860. Members of the Pile family (and their peacock) are grouped in the driveway. The tall man at the rear of the group may be John McKinley. The garden looks recently planted and carriage wheels have left marks in the gravel drive. [General description] This stone house was the residience of Thomas Fotheringham who was one of the founders of the Fotheringham Brothers Brewery at Gawler, later Kapunda. The house has a large basement and return verandah with decorative ironwork. A staircase leads from the front entrance to the lawn. Part of its large garden is seen in the foreground where the family dog is posing (near the bench). [On back of photograph] 'Gawler / Mr. Thomas Fotheringham's residence / 1872-86'.
