From right to left: 'Town Clerk Mr Saunders; Lady Tennyson; Father, Mayor of Port Adelaide; Lord Tennyson; Sir Ritchard Neville [sic]'. Lord Tennyson was the Governor of South Australia. Sir Richard Nevill was the Governor's private secretary. The Mayor of Port Adelaide at the time was Dr Johann Carl George Jurs.

Premises of W. Rorhlach, Machinist Builder & Shoeing Smith. The small building has a corrugated iron roof on which is painted in large letters 'Use Amgoorie Tea'. Several men stand outside, and another is driving a horse-drawn cart along the road in front of the building. Albert Thiele was an apprentice at the shop prior to serving in World War II, but this photograph likely pre-dates his apprenticeship.
