Mounted Constable Waterhouse and Detective Nation

Mounted Constable Ted Waterhouse and Detective Wylie Nation, members of the South Australian Police force who investigated the murder of pastoralist George Snell of Yankaninna. A researcher has provided the following information: Mounted Constable Edward George Waterhouse (1859-1947) was the son of Frederick George Waterhouse and his wife Fanny Sheppard (nee Abbott). At the time of Snell's death he was known as 'Ned'. The story of the murder is told in 'Cloud Over The Gammon Range' by Alan Bailey (1986). Wylie Nelson was born in 1877 and died in 1937.
