Welcoming crowds of children and adults waving flags greet the Governor of South Australia Sir Day Bosanquet and his party after their arrival by train at Kapunda railway station; a military escort and a band wait by the official welcomers. The Governor arrived on a special train at 11.45 am on Wednesday 4 October, and was welcomed by the mayor, Mr R. Rees and members of the town council. The Governor was entertained at lunch at Anlaby by Mr Henry Dutton, then visited the Kapunda showgrounds in the afternoon and inspected the exhibits at the jubilee show of the Kapunda and Light Agricultural Society.
