There is a brief article in 'The Register" Saturday 17 January 1914, page 6 about the attendance of Gould, Maplas and others at a special 'class of instruction' (a similar one appeared in 'The Advertiser' on the same day, page 23).

10th Garrison Artillery

Sixty three members of the 10th Garrison Artillery in training camp at Fort Largs. Following the decision to place all military forces in khaki uniforms the 10th Garrison Artillery conducted a funeral in the afternoon of Tuesday 25 March 1913 for their old uniform of blue with a red stripe down the trousers. The sign near the headstone reads 'To the memory of the blue'.

The man in the middle row weating the dark uniform and peaked cap is Chief Petty Officer Henry Perry of the Torpedo Station, which was on the corner of the North Arm and the Port River, Port Adelaide. He volunteered with the Sea Scouts teaching sailing and rowing.
