Arthur Searcy was born at Mount Barker, married Emily Louisa Payne and had 14 children. He worked in public office for 50 years occupying 24 appointments, including customs officer and positions at the State Harbours Board. He collected and took photographs through the first 25 years of the 20th century. See his papers at PRG 280.
