Mr. Richard Alfred O'Connor, Chairman of the Hospital Committee, was elected a few years later as a Liberal Union MP for the electorate of Albert from 1915 to 1921. His wife Louise laid the foundation stone. At the time the new hospital was named the 'Pinnaroo District Hospital.'
