A researcher has provided the following information : The SAM "Australian Aboriginal Cultures Gallery Research Project - Middle and Senior Years" contains a photo in which he looks very similar to this one (same clothes and similar in appearance, but not smiling), annotated thus: Erlikiliaka, also known as Jim Kite, a southern Arrernte man photographed by Basedow in about 1920.
