Football players jumping for the ball during a football match between the South Australian Second Eighteen (striped guernsey) and a team representng the the TFL (Tasmanian Football League - which was based in southern Tasmania), played in front of a large crowd at Adelaide Oval 21st July 1923. It is possible that the South Australian on the left, waiting for the tap, is rover Ivor Nicolle from Sturt. The TFL were the victors in this match. Number 1 is H. Gorringe for Tasmania. This record previously said it was a Tasmanian State team, however a researcher has pointed out that at the time in Tasmania there was the TFL, which comprised of teams from the south including Hobart, NTFA (Northern Tasmanian Football Association), and NWFU (North West Football Union).
