The Governor opened the State Boys War Memorial Hall at the Edwardstown Industrial School, now the Glandore Community Centre. There was an honour roll board - about 294 boys who had passed through the school had enlisted in WWI and about 49 were killed. It is said that one of the 'boys' was the first soldier awarded the Military Medal in France in WWI, and the board is now held at the Glandore Community Centre [information provided by a researcher].
