Drops from the records c.1910. Made one trip to Port Chalmers, NZ in 1874 carrying 496 passengers. Brief mention in the book called 'Last of the Windjammers'].

Well known in the trade to Australia with some fast voyages to her credit]. According to a researcher, this photograph appears to have been taken in Port Adelaide prior to the building of the Birkenhead Bridge. There is a slipway behind with a paddle tug on it that appears to be the slipway that was moved when the bridge was built, to become Central Slip. The slipway winch-house has a cutout in the roof to enable sailing vessels to be drawn right up to the house, the bowsprit could clear the roof. This was also moved to the new location in the late 1930's.

Built 1867 by Barclay, Curle & Co. at Glasgow with the United Kingdom flag. 1889 it was sold to Sinclair & Ellwood and was operated as 'Sailing Ship Carnarvon Castle Co'. 1897 sold to Flugge, Johannsen & Libinus of Hamburg and renamed Nurnberg. 1905 sold to Sven, O Stray of Christiansand (Norway). It was abandoned on January 10 1910 in the Atlantic Ocean at 35.30 N, 27.24 V, on the road Lobos de Tierra - Antwerp with guano.
